We had a chance to talk with Lab, Ajumma's Tere Park. She was active in postings about Korean food on several Facebook groups.
1. Paano nagstart yung Youtube channel mo?
Ever since I can remember, food has always been a big part of my life dahil lumaki ako sa pamilya na may passion for food. Daming nagtatanong if gagawa ako ng youtube or blog so after a few years nag-decide na ako gumawa. It was a now or never decision.
2.Curious kami before going to Korea, ano ung pinagkabalahan mo dito sa Pinas bago ka napadpad sa Land of the Kimchi?
Actually, prior to coming to Korea, I was working for 6 years in Finland. Prior to that naman, I was working in the hospitality industry in the Philippines since 2007. 2017 lang ako dumating sa Korea pero even before that Korean food was really one of my interests.
Also, sa totoo lang Korean food is complex so I wanted to introduce ways you can cook Korean food without breaking your budget and spending too much time.
For me, making Kimchi is the most difficult. As easy as it looks like, hindi pala. Meticulous ang preparation up to ways of storing it. So many versions, so many kinds. Kulang pa ata ang isang lifetime to study all about it.
4. What's next to Ajumma for 2021?
For 2021, gusto ko lang makagawa pa ng maraming tutorials, give virtual food tours, create a bigger following for FB and Instagram. Medyo mahirap lang dahil pandemic at finances are tight and limited ang chances to go out and film. I am not in a rush naman to grow the channel. Gusto ko rin kasi i-enjoy while doing it.
