SUPER M: SM Entertainment's super group debuts

Last August, Capitol Records unveiled their new K-Pop super group that will debut on October. Dubbed by SM Entertainment as the "Avengers of K-Pop" composed of some of SME's best idols of different generations.

SuperM is composed of NCT127's Mark and Taeyong and WayV's Lucas and Ten, representing the today's generation. Also in the lineup are Baekhyun and Kai from award-winning group, EXO. Last but definitely not the least, is the idol with 12 years of experience of all members, SHINee's Taemin who is successful as part of his group and also as a solo performer.

The group was revealed at the 2019 Capitol Congress event that introduces them with a visual teaser with the phrase "We Are The Future." With a powerful lineup, SM Entertainment set sight to conquer the western market that is currently topped by artists from other Korean entertainment, BTS and Blackpink.

“This is a total new formation of a group and artist, and also a totally new form for the business. We’re maintaining their (previous) groups, their solo careers, and on top of this we have this ‘Avengers’ group to pull them together,” Chris Lee of SM Entertainment told Forbes magazine.

October 4 marks the release of their five-song EP, "The 1st Mini Album SuperM” and a music video for their title track, 'Jopping.' Teasers invaded our timeline when they uploaded this on their official accounts on September 29. The official video was released today.
