The nominations for the 2019 American Music Awards are in! As K-Pop continues to be a global thing, our global frontrunners. BTS and EXO are waving the South Korean flags proudly with their nominations.
For the Favorite Social Artist category, both EXO and BTS are nominated along with Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes.
BTS is up for two more categories. Tour of the Year with their highly successful Love Yourself Tour and it's extension, Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, going head to head with Ariana Grande, Elton John, Pink and Ed Sheeran. They are also nominated for the Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock with Jonas Brothers and Panic! At The Disco.

K-Pop was first acknowledged in the AMAs in 2017. It was only months after BTS' historic win at the Billboard Music Awards that skyrocketed K-Pop to the world stage. The septet performed their single, DNA from their album, Love Yourself: Her.
This is also the year where Jackson Wang made a special appearance.
In 2018, BTS won the Favorite Social Artist.
